Days Cultural Safari |
Day 1:
Arrival
Upon arrival a representative from Muka East African Safaris
will meet you at the Entebbe International Airport to transfer
you to your accommodation in Entebbe. Our representative
will also help you to make last minute shopping, money exchange
and any banking transactions that you may require.
Day 2: KAMPALA CITY TOUR
After breakfast you will be taken on a tour within the greenest
city in Africa. Some of the highlights
include a visit to the Kasubi Tombs, a special burial place
for the Buganda Kings, the Namugongo Shrines, Bahia Temple,
Uganda Museum, Owino Market and African Craft Village -
the best place to buy African art, carvings and other handcrafts
of your desire. You will have chance to enjoy best Uganda.

Day 3: KAMPALA - FORT PORTAL
After breakfast we will depart Kampala and head west to Fort
Portal. Driving through the verdant countryside we will pass
traditional homesteads and farms with a lunch stop at Garden's
Resturant for a Ugandan Buffet,visit in the nearby Mpanga
Market then proceed to your accommodation in Fort portal at
Rwenzori Travelers Inn/ Fort Motel/Mountain of the Moon Hotel. |

Day 4: MOUNTAINS OF
THE MOON
Today you can enjoy the majestic Rwenzori Mountains in its
full glory. Enjoy a guided nature walk at the foothills and
learn about the local culture firsthand. Enjoy the scenic
views, have a glimpse of the village life and visit a traditional
witchdoctor at his home. |

| We will also make a
stop at the Amabere Caves, where you can discover the small
hidden waterfall and admire the stalagmites and stalactites.
After this impressive day a cultural evening is awaiting you
with traditional dances and songs from different tribes and
or on Sundays you will have chance to join a local church
and see how they celebrate(optional). Dinner and overnight

Day 5: CRATER
LAKES
Today we will explore the region of the Crater Lakes. Enjoy
the beauty of the numerous small lakes, surrounded by gentle
hills. Take a hike at Lake Nkuruba to encounter different
species of primates and birds, and visit the Mahoma Falls.
Meet the local people as you walk through their villages,
learn about the customs of the Batoroo tribe and enjoy the
panoramic views. Highlights of the day will also include visits
to Lake Nyamirima and “Top of the World” the highest
place in the world with views of kibaale Forest, Queen Elizabeth,
the Rwenzoris and almost all the Crater Lakes in the Region.
Enjoy local performance from the Orphan group at Lake Nkuruba.

Day 6: FORT
PORTAL – BUHOMA (BWINDI)
After Breakfast, we will drive to Bwindi through Queen Elizabeth
National Parks with a stop to walk through the Maramagambo
Forest, known for the Blue Lake and the Bat and Hunters Cave.
You will get the chance to have a close look at the bats and
maybe even the rock python and forest cobras that feed on
the bats. The same walk will provide you with views of different
bird species, primates and tree and Lunch at the Peninsular
in Mweya at Tembe's Carteen. The Journey will proceed through
Ishasha with chance to view some Game such as the Uganda Kob,
Elephant, and if lucky the tree climbing lions as we go through
Homesteads and trading centre to eventually bring us to Buhoma
in Bwindi. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge/Buhoma community campsite/Silver
back Lodge/Bwindi View Bandas. |

Day 7: NKURINGO
WALKING SAFARIS.
After breakfast we will be met by a Nkuringo Walking Safaris
guide to start on the walk through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest,
starting with a visit to the waterfalls,enjoy nature as you
learn about local herbs,trees and scrub and what they mean
to the local people, bird life, butterflies and the history
that surrounds this old forest and the home of the endangered
Mountain Gorilla. The walk takes about 5hours that brings
you to Nkuringo which means “Round”, beautiful
spot with amazing views of the Congo Basin, the great Albertine
Rift Valley and the Virunga Volcanoes. For those who cannot
manage the walk, will be driven around to meet with the rest
of the group in Nkuringo Overnight at Nkuringo Gorilla Campsite. |

Day 8: NKURINGO-NTEKO
VILLAGE
A day to explorer Nkuringo Village with participation in a
community walk, with visits to Pygmy Tribe of the Forest the
Batwa;learn about their Livelihood and how they survive, visits
to a witchdoctor, the Blacksmith and the “Top of World”
the highest place in Nkuringo with stunning views as you enjoy
a local football March by the Nkuringo All Stars Football
Team. After Lunch and relaxation, the Nkuringo Youth Initiative
Members will make a performance/entertainment about the Culture
and conservation related issues. Dinner and Overnight Nkuringo
Gorilla Campsite. Day 9: NKURINGO TO LAKE
MUTANDA
After breakfast, your driver will drop you at Rubuguri Junction
10kms from Nkuringo with your guide to continue your walk
down to Lake Mutanda, with visits to a local Primary School,
homesteads, your will have chance to touch base with the local
populace as the children run after you with chants of “Mzungu
Mzungu” local word for a white Person that you experience
through out your journey. You will be met at Rwajenge Landing
Site; Start canoe trip for 30minute transfer to Nkuringo Safari
Lodge for your accommodation. |

Day 10: CANOE
SAFARI ON LAKE MUTANDA
After breakfast and breathtaking views of the Virunga Volcanoes,
you will procced with your Guide the waiting dugout Canoes
on Lake Mutanda, this 2hour journey is thriller as you paddle
through the Hills surrounding the Lake till you land at Sheba's
Campsite to be met by your Driver to be transferred Kisoro
town to visit the Batwa before heading to Lake Bunyonyi over
night Habaharo Island/Bushara Island or Lake bunyonyi Overland
Camp. Day 11: RETURN TO KAMPALA.
After breakfast will start the journey back to the Capital,
will numerous stops at different Trading centers, Local Markets,
Lunch at Agip Motel Mbarara and at the Equator for coffee
and shopping then you will be transferred your Accommodation
in Entebbe at The Boma Guest House/Entebbe Airport Guest House/Gately
Inn/Entebee Travelers Inn. |
